Volvo adapts cars to changes in driving behavior

GasBuddy Blog -- It is, without a doubt, a stark reflection on society. Volvo says it is now developing new safety systems that factor in driver behavior in the modern traffic environment and that includes the stupid and dangerous choices too many of us make.

They cite U.S. research that says modern drivers spend 25 percent to 30 percent of the time behind the wheel doing other things, such as "mobile communication" and since these choices affect the driver's attention that has to be taken into account when developing new technology, Volvo says, in a report from Greencarcongress.com.

While Volvo says it is dedicated to achieving the vision of "an accident-free traffic environment" it is now advancing technology that helps the car take...

Somethings are worse than death and that is serious injury.
