how about, instead of shipping all that crude out of the country, it gets refined and used in the US?

Still good for the country, and viable even with government roadblocks.

Big deal. Oil and gas prices are still hyperinflated thanks to greedy speculators and big oil market supply manipulations.

The Congress will not allow new refineries. The existing ones have been upgraded as much as possible and some are outliving their usefulness. Shame on Congress.

Drilling and producing wells are fine, but we need to be able to refine and deliver to the markets.

Increased on private land, decreased on federal land. We still need more refineries to process the oil.

Does it matter, without refineries to make this oil into gasoline/diesel, this means nothing.

They've been sitting on a lot of capped wells just waiting for higher prices. Must be that time.

Our production is at the highest level since 1998 and still gas prices for 2012 set a record for being the highest cost ever. What's wrong with this statement, based on this statement gas should be $.96/per gallon.

So are we using the crude domestically to support the US or are they selling it on the international market to China and India to make a huge profit?

The North Dakota oil production boom is occurring on PRIVATE land, not on Government confiscated land, which for all purposes Maobama is restricting from oil exploration.
